Festival Photography Competition 2011

£5,000 PRIZE

The theme for the competition is ‘JOURNEY’

The judges will be looking for a coherent portfolio of at least 5 images with a strong artistic vision on the theme of ‘Journey’. There is no restriction on how the theme can be interpreted.

The entry must be accompanied by a statement outlining your project proposal on the subject ‘Journey’ for next years Festival.

The winner will receive £5,000 (sponsored by Generali Worldwide and PPF Partners) to be used to produce a portfolio of a minimum of 15 photographs on the subject ‘Journey’ for exhibition at the 2012 Festival.

Entry requirements

All entries must be digital images, sized to 1400 pixels horizontal and 1050 vertical in sRGB colour and in JPEG or TIFF format on CD-R discs. Each image must be titled with the photographers name and title – example:- j blogs_title.jpeg. (NOTE separation by _ underscore, not – hyphen) Each disc must have the photographers name and written on the disc with a marker pen. Each entry must have a completed entry form (available on the festival website) and be accompanied by a cheque for the entry fee made payable to “Guernsey Photography Festival LBG”. The CD must also have statement outlining the entrants’ proposed project for the next festival.

CD’s must be free of viruses – any CD found to have a virus will be excluded from the competition.

CD’s will not be returned after the competition, they will be destroyed.

All entries and communications must be in the English language.

Entry Fee

Each entrant will pay an entry fee of £10, to be submitted with the completed entry form.

Eligibility

This competition is open to all photographers wherever you live. Staff, or their immediate family, from any sponsoring company or Festival Partner organisation, or the event organisers are not eligible to enter the competition.

Important dates

Entries accepted up to 5.00pm on the 30th June 2011.

Winners and runners up will be announced after the Festival.

Copyright

The winner and all entrants retain copyright of their work. By entering the competition, Photographers grant the organisers a royalty-free license to use their images for the purpose of subsequent display on the organisers website or in their promotional materials. Entrants grant the organisers the right to use their name for promotion in any medium. Samples of the winners work will be released to the press for
